Eni Norge AS (Eni) is the operator of the Goliat field, located on the Tromsøflaket bank in the Barents Sea around 85 kilometres north-west of Hammerfest. The field will be developed using a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel of the Sevan 1000 type, with eight subsea well templates.
Background and objective
Between 10 and 12 November 2014, the PSA carried out an audit of the operator's management of emergency preparedness conditions on the facility. The main part of the audit took place at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard at Ulsan in South Korea.
The audit was a continuation of earlier follow-up activities concerning the Goliat project, including aspects of winterisation of the facility. The audit also included verification of the company's processes for compliance measurement and project management in the emergency preparedness domain. The PSA also wanted to acquire a picture of the operational status of the facility with regard to the scheduled startup date.
Result
No non-conformities were detected during this audit.
Improvement points were identified in connection with:
- Rescue and evacuation of injured persons
- Rescue of personnel from lockable cabins
- Storage of survival suits in cabins
- Use of the MOB boat
- Performance requirements of medical treatment
- Radio and SART
