Temporarily abandoned wells

More than 2 100 oil and gas wells are to be found on the Norwegian continental shelf, and 277 of these have been temporarily plugged and abandoned. Downhole barriers in temporarily plugged and abandoned wells are not qualified to last for ever. That makes it important to follow up and ensure they are not abandoned beyond the lifespan of the barriers which secure them.
