Results from this project will be incorporated in the PSA’s future planning and execution of its supervisory activities and communication work with the industry.
The review shows that few alterations have been made to drilling fluids and their component chemicals over the past 15 years, but that a number of changes have taken place in the parameters for mixing and utilising these fluids.
These changes have reduced the need for manual handling of chemicals on offshore facilities and led to a reduction in exposure to chemical additives.
