Aim of the project
The aim of this report is to provide a status of technology and knowledge developments for preventing accidents that risk causing acute spills to the sea in connection with petroleum activities in the High North.
This report is a follow-up to the report of 15 January 2010 on the technology and knowledge status of significance for reducing the risk of unintended incidents that may cause acute spills to the sea in connection with petroleum activities in the High North, prepared by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway in collaboration with the University of Stavanger and IRIS. The 2010 report provided information about the technology and knowledge status up to that year, and pointed to future trends.
Result
The new report summarises and expands on progress and statuses up to 2018, using 2010 as its baseline. The report was developed in 2019 as part of the PSA’s ST16 project: "Risk of acute spills in the High North".
