The aim of the study was to shed light on differences in how the area contingency planning schemes are managed and operated, as well as to survey the use of emergency response vessels for the areas.
The study showed that the area contingency planning schemes on the NCS are working well. The study also showed that the quality of the emergency preparedness offered in the different schemes is not affected by the industry’s focus on cost savings.
