The project also mapped protection methods and assess the need for other types of drilling facilities than those currently used in the Norwegian section of the Barents Sea.
Furthermore, the project obtained knowledge of how this issue is handled on other countries' shelves, with particular attention paid to simplified movement of facilities between the shelves. This is to be viewed in the light of increased cross-border interaction in the North, and knowledge-based industry initiatives.
