Corrosion under insulation (CUI) has been the cause of a number of incidents in recent years. The PSA is working to help reduce major accident risk linked to CUI, notably by increasing the industry's knowledge and awareness of the issue.
A report has now been prepared containing an overview of the different insulation solutions that have been used in the petroleum industry from 1970 to the present day.
The report Insulation solutions and safety challenges from a historical perspective focuses on those solutions most commonly used and typical of their time, and on the safety challenges associated with CUI.
