The RNNP survey for diving personnel aims to describe the working environment, perception of safety, effects of work on health, as well as other safety-related topics in diving operations based on the employees’ participation. The purpose is to monitor trends over time, to allow measures to be implemented to correct any adverse trends and in general help improve safety and the working environment in the industry.
We invite all divers and diving support personnel working on the Norwegian shelf to respond to the RNNP survey for diving personnel. The survey will run throughout the year of 2026, and the results will be presented in March 2027.
The survey is intended for divers and diving support personnel with the following positions:
Diving Personnel:
- Diving superintendent
- Diving supervisor saturation
- Saturation diver
- Life support supervisor
- Life support technician
- Assistant LST
- Gasman
- Dive tech. supervisor
- Dive technician
- Diving supervisor surface supply
- Surface supplied diver
- Platform diving liaison
Non-diving personnel involved in diving operations:
- Offshore manager
- ROV supervisor
- ROV operator
- DP operator
- Coxswain LDC
The RNNP survey was initially launched in 2000 to measure the evolving risk levels within Norway's oil and gas sector. The survey underwent expansions firstly in 2006 to include land-based petroleum facilities, and subsequently in 2018 to incorporate diving personnel involved in petroleum activities.
