On 11 December 2025, Havtil reported Equinor to the police following a chemical exposure incident at the Mongstad refinery on 29 October 2025.
Havtil was notified of the incident on 19 November. The follow-up revealed that the chemical exposure to which the employees were subjected comprises serious breaches of various provisions of, and pursuant to, the Working Environment Act.
Havtil will continue its follow-up of Equinor in respect of the conditions at Mongstad, and assist the police if necessary.
Since the case now rests with the police, Havtil will not be making further comment on the content of the report.
