Havtil shall
- contribute to a good understanding in the industry of the threat and risk picture
- help strengthen situational awareness of complex threats
- and improve reporting of activities which present a threat to security, thereby contributing to the situational overview of the EOS (intelligence, surveillance and security) services and relevant civil authorities.
As part of our follow-up of security topics, on 23 April 2025 we organised a guidance meeting with the petroleum sector participants concerning the notification and reporting of activities which present a threat to security and security incidents.
Good situational awareness, along with the most comprehensive and nuanced situation picture possible in both our own and adjacent sectors, are necessary to ensure that good choices and decisions are made at the right time.
Given Havtil’s scope of responsibility, our main message at this meeting was to describe trends in activities which present a threat to security and security incidents, regulatory requirements, our expectations of the petroleum sector participants, and how we as a sectoral authority contribute to strengthening the companies’ decision support by, for example, the introduction of security measures offshore and on land.
Increased sectoral reporting of security incidents and activities which present a threat to security offshore and on land helps strengthen the national situation picture.
During the meeting, Havtil presented other sectoral authorities that we significantly interact and cooperate with, especially those that form part of the value chains supporting the petroleum sector.
The group from the South-West Police District responsible for offshore also participated in the meeting.
In addition to the meeting on 23 April, on 24 April a guidance meeting for entities subject to the Security Act was held, which addressed the notification and reporting requirements in this Act.
