Regulatory development and government follow-up – the working environment in the petroleum industry 1963-92

It has been prepared as background input to Norwegian Official Report (NOU) 2022: 19 on a compensation scheme for Norway’s “oil pioneers”.

Background

At the request of the Storting (parliament),  the Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion (AID) appointed a commission in 2021 drawn from employers, unions and government to prepare proposals for compensating the oil pioneers. 

The commission’s report was submitted to Marte Mjøs Persen, the minister of labour and social inclusion, on 15 December 2022.

Knowledge

The PSA was asked by the commission’s secretariat to contribute background knowledge on regulatory development and government follow-up in the petroleum industry during 196-92, with particular emphasis on the chemical working environment.

Since no similar presentation currently exists, the PSA has decided to issue this work as a separate report (in Norwegian only).
