Every year, the PSA investigates five to 10 serious incidents. The object is both to identify breaches of the regulations and to contribute to learning lessons from an incident.

The project now under way will provide more detailed answers about the effect of these investigations and what lessons they have provided.

In this context, “effect” is defined as changes to knowledge, motivation, procedures, tools or practice at individual companies and at industry level.

Ten selected

The PSA has chosen DNV to carry out the evaluation, which will be based on 10 selected investigation conducted in recent years.

The evaluation will be summed up in a report published on the PSA website, and which will be used by the PSA in its improvement work.
