User surveys are a useful tool for learning about the impact of our work.

In both 2019 and 2020, the PSA conducted user surveys after all audits to gain insights into how these supervisory activities are perceived and the effect they have, and to identify how to improve them in the future.

The survey report for 2019 is available here.

As in 2019, we are now conducting a general user survey to obtain feedback from the industry and information about the effect of our activities.  This user survey will address issues of effects and improvement points more generally, without any direct relationship with the individual audits. It will also be sent to companies which we have not audited this year.

The survey is currently being sent to government contacts and safety delegates, and goes to all licensees, operating companies, onshore facilities and companies responsible for the operation of mobile facilities. A new feature this year concerns questions relating to COVID-19 and the impact of certain of our 2020 audits being performed digitally.

Both surveys are performed by a consultancy firm, Ideas2evidence. The PSA has access only to anonymised information. Equinor is an exception, in that the company can be identified, but not the field or performance area. The results of these two user surveys will be published on our website.

The aim is for the user surveys to make a positive contribution to the PSA’s improvement activities, and we are fully appreciative of the work put into responding to the surveys.
