The audit was conducted on 16 February 2024 and forms part of our processing of COSL’s application for an Acknowledgment of Compliance (AoC) for COSLProspector.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify through spot checks whether the technical condition, organisation, preparations for operation and relevant documents were in compliance with the maritime systems requirements in the petroleum regulations.
Result
Seven non-conformities were identified, concerning:
- Indication of valve position in solenoid cabinet
- Mechanical closure of weather-tight sliding doors
- Recovery after damage
- Maintenance
- Procedures
- Operation of anchor winches
- Communication in operating house
In addition, three improvement points were identified, concerning:
- Training and competence
- Local labeling of ballast valves
- Winterisation
What happens now?
We have asked COSL to report to us by 2 September 2024 on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement points observed.
