The audit was conducted from 26 September to 3 October 2023.
The Berling field is located in the Norwegian Sea, 20 kilometres west of the Åsgard field. Berling was proven in 2018, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in June 2023. The development concept includes a subsea template with four slots, tied back to the Åsgard B facility.
The field is in development. Production is scheduled to begin in 2028.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that the design of the subsea production system and pipelines for Berling complies with requirements in the HSE regulations.
Result
The audit identified no regulatory non-conformities, but we observed two matters that we have chosen to categorise as improvement points. These concerned:
- Definition of design norms
- Plan for managing interfaces

We have asked OMV to give us its assessment of the improvement points observed by 4 December 2023.
