Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the audit was carried out using digital tools, with a Teams start-up meeting on 15 June 2020. Interviews were conducted by Skype or Teams, and by video verification from the facility in weeks 25 and 26.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to check how Equinor, along with the drilling contractor KCAD and service company Baker Hughes, is managing major accident and working environment risks, given the altered framework conditions in fixed-facility contracts.
Result
Three nonconformities were identified relating to:
- Staffing and capacity during implementation of the IO3 model
- Roles and responsibilities in the IO3 model
- Risk reduction and continuous improvement
In addition, one improvement point was identified related to the use of the Norwegian language.
What happens now?
We have asked Equinor to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement point observed. The deadline for this is set at 25 September 2020.
