The audit was conducted from 13 to 15 March 2017.

Objective

The audit was focused on Statoil’s ongoing streamlining processes, which are being planned and executed at different levels of the organisation. The objective of this audit was to review and assess how these processes are ensuring that robust emergency preparedness forms part of the total risk picture in the company. Through the audit, we focused in particular on risk being assessed individually and in combination in advance of decisions, and on adopted measures safeguarding emergency preparedness in both the short and long terms.

Result

Two non-conformities were identified, relating to:

  • System for post-training follow-up
  • Incompatible emergency preparedness tasks

In addition, two improvement points were identified, relating to:

  • Communication of safety strategy
  • Immersion suits

What happens next?

We have asked Statoil to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement points observed. The reply deadline is set at 19 May 2017.
