The audit was conducted from 13 to 17 November 2017.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify Odfjell’s management of emergency preparedness and BOPs (blowout preventers) and safety-critical equipment in the drilling area as barriers:
- Emergency preparedness: The management of emergency preparedness, based on risk and emergency preparedness analyses, how the emergency preparedness is organised and what equipment is available in emergency situations.
- Barrier management linked to BOPs and safety-critical equipment in the drilling area: follow-up of technical, operational and organisation elements.
- Follow-up of previous audits.
Result
The audit detected non-conformities relating to:
- System for training of the emergency preparedness organisation
- Helicopter deck
In addition, improvement points were identified relating to:
- Lifeboats
- Marking and signage of escape routes
- Maintenance of emergency preparedness equipment
What happens next?
We have asked Odfjell Drilling to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and to provide us with an assessment of the improvement points identified. The deadline for feedback is set at 25 January 2018.
