The audit was conducted from 13 to 17 November 2017.

Objective

The objective of the audit was to verify Odfjell’s management of emergency preparedness and BOPs (blowout preventers) and safety-critical equipment in the drilling area as barriers:

  • Emergency preparedness: The management of emergency preparedness, based on risk and emergency preparedness analyses, how the emergency preparedness is organised and what equipment is available in emergency situations.
  • Barrier management linked to BOPs and safety-critical equipment in the drilling area: follow-up of technical, operational and organisation elements.
  • Follow-up of previous audits.

Result

The audit detected non-conformities relating to:

  • System for training of the emergency preparedness organisation
  • Helicopter deck

In addition, improvement points were identified relating to:

  • Lifeboats
  • Marking and signage of escape routes
  • Maintenance of emergency preparedness equipment
