The audit was carried out from 2 to 4 March 2016.

The audit was conducted in order to gain an impression of how KCAD is adapting to its new operating activities and the extent to which the HSE management system is tailored to these operating activities.

Background

As part of its follow-up of KCAD as a new entrant in the operation of mobile drilling facilities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, the PSA conducted an audit of HSE management. The audit was focused on the status of preparations for operation and KCAD’s role in the project.

In 2016, KCAD will be preparing and submitting an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) application for two facilities and then operate these facilities. This is an activity of which KCAD has had no previous experience. The PSA wanted to monitor how KCAD has safeguarded HSE management and regulatory compliance in its preparations.

Objective

The objective of the activity was to verify that the company’s management system has been designed in accordance with the regulatory requirements. The verifications were primarily based on the Framework Regulations and the Management Regulations.

The audit covered selected aspects of the company’s management system, with an emphasis on the organisation and management of HSE activities and preparations for operation and an AoC application.

Result

No non-conformities or improvement points were identified.
