The Borgland Dolphin is a Semi Submersible Drilling Vessel of the Aker H3 type, built in Norway by Bergen Mekaniske Verksted in 1976.
The unit was originally built as a flotel, but was converted to a Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit at Harlan and Wolff Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries LTD, Belfast, in 1999.
Borgland Dolphin is working on a contract for Statoil in the Tampen area until December 2005. The unit is owned by Fred Olsen Energy ASA and operated and managed by Dolphin AS.
