The audit was conducted from 7 to 11 June 2021 with assistance from the Civil Aviation Authority Norway.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to monitor whether Odfjell is working systematically to reduce the risk associated with helicopter operations on its offshore facilities.
Result
Observations made on the basis of the Regulations relating to helicopter operations – use of offshore helidecks (BSL D 5-1) are described in a separate report compiled by the Civil Aviation Authority Norway. Certain conditions were detected that were not compliant with the regulatory requirements.
In addition, three improvement points were identified, concerning:
- Registration of emergency preparedness training
- Securing of loose equipment/inventory
- MOB suits
What happens now?
We have asked Odfjell to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement points observed.
